History

 

The origin of the Company goes back to the early 1970’s when McAllister Bros. Limited was formed, by three brothers, to service the drainage and sewer infrastructure. The Company grew steadily in those early years carrying out sewer and drainage maintenance for water companies, local government and businesses. The scope of services proliferated to encompass CCTV pipeline inspection, sewer renovation, planned sewer infrastructure cleaning, reactive sewer responsive and other wastewater operations.

In the mid-1990’s McAllister Bros. Limited expanded further into the trenchless pipeline market to include pipe re-lining, tunnelling, directional drilling and other installation techniques.  Clients included major contractors and utility contractors as well as local government and water companies.

Due to the success of the new pipeline construction projects, it was decided to form a separate company to carry out those works.  This company was Terra Solutions Ltd.  The continuing success of Terra Solutions led to the formation of the Terra group of companies.

Terra Solutions have invested in a fleet of tunnelling equipment which is stored and maintained at our modern headquarters in Newry, County Down.  Herrenknecht microtunnelling machines are complimented by soil separation plants, flocculent dosing and injection machinery, and centrifuge equipment manufactured by Shauenburg and Bauer.  Lubricant mixing and injection plants, containerised workshops, stores and welfare units form the back-up facilities required for successful microtunnelling projects.  A selection of brand new backhoe tunnelling shields enable us to economically install pipejacks in a range of sizes, whilst complying with current Health and Safety legislation.  Directional Drilling, shaft construction, guided auger boring, general pipe jacking and ancillary equipment enable the full range of trenchless construction activities to be carried out.
