Barry McAllister

Barry has been involved in trenchless technology since 1995 when, as Trenchless Manager for McAllister Bros. Limited, he purchased their first directional drilling rig.  The Company soon became one of the largest directional drilling companies in Ireland, within 5 years culminating in the receipt of the United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology award for small projects for a crossing under Antonine’s Wall in Scotland.  Although he graduated with an MSc in biochemisty, Barry joined the family business to develop its trenchless scope of activities. Over the years Barry has had the hands on experience and gained the theoretical knowledge for most ‘no-dig’ techniques including directional drilling, auger-boring, pipe-bursting, moling, pipejacking and microtunnelling and has undertaken these projects throughout the UK and Ireland as well as further afield in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Malaysia etc.  Barry has managed projects in excess of £20 million in value as well as carrying out smaller specialist crossings himself, giving him a wide scope of experience.  In 2008, Barry and his team acquired the trenchless division of McAllister Bros. Ltd. and rebranded it as Terra Solutions Limited.
