Underpinning
Underpinning is a method of excavation and support that offers vertical ground support. It is primarily used in building basements, cofferdams for land based industrial facilities, cofferdams for bridge works, strengthening of building foundations and various other challenging areas of construction. The type of sheeting, piling or walling needs to be appropriately selected based on the project conditions and may provide temporary soil support prior to the permanent substructure construction, or it may serve as temporary soil support before being incorporated into the works as the permanent means of soil retention. Various methods are available to allow Terra Solutions to work in a variety of ground conditions from using ground anchors to stabilize walls to underpinning below foundations using cement and chemical grouting.
